1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Upshyft (“we”, “us”) handles personal information in connection with our marketing site, company and admin portals, and worker mobile application (the “Platform”). This is generic sample content for demonstration. Replace it with a counsel-reviewed policy before production use.

Depending on how you use Upshyft, we may collect:

  • Account details — name, email, phone number, password or authentication data, company affiliation, and role
  • Profile & verification data — skills, experience, documents, and identity verification results from KYC partners
  • Job & attendance data — applications, hires, shift times, location-related job preferences, and attendance confirmations
  • Payment data — billing details, transaction amounts, wallet activity, and payout information (card/UPI details are typically handled by payment providers)
  • Support communications — messages you send through support or contact forms
  • Technical data — device type, app version, IP address, browser type, and usage logs needed to operate and secure the Platform

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • Create and manage accounts
  • Match companies with workers and operate job, attendance, and payment flows
  • Verify identity and reduce fraud
  • Send transactional messages (SMS, email, or push) such as OTPs, job updates, and payout notices
  • Provide customer support and resolve disputes
  • Improve platform reliability, security, and product experience
  • Meet legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations

4. Sharing of information

We may share information with:

  • Other Platform users as needed for hiring and job fulfilment (for example, a company may see a worker’s relevant profile details)
  • Service providers such as SMS, email, push notification, payment, KYC, hosting, and storage vendors, under appropriate agreements
  • Professional advisors and authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security

We do not sell personal information as a commercial product list.

5. International transfers & storage

Data may be processed in data centres or by vendors located in different regions. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers. Files and sensitive operational data are stored through secured storage services.

6. Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Platform, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary by record type (for example, financial ledger entries may be kept longer than temporary OTP codes).

7. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organisational measures designed to protect personal information, including access controls, encryption for certain sensitive fields, and audit practices around financial actions. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use strong credentials and notify us of suspected unauthorised access.

8. Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, update, or delete certain personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can also update many profile details directly in the Platform. Marketing emails (if any) will include an unsubscribe option; transactional messages required to run the service may still be sent.

Our marketing site and portals may use cookies or similar technologies for essential functions, preferences, and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect site functionality.

10. Children’s privacy

Upshyft is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age required to work and contract in their jurisdiction.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The “Last updated” date will reflect the latest version. Material changes may also be communicated through the Platform or by email where appropriate.
